Bios for Washington Borough Business Improvement District 2018 Board of Directors Candidates 

James Myers – Co-owner of Home Helpers of Washington, established in January 2018. My prior experience was 25 years project management with, Bell Atlantic, Lucent Technologies, and most recently for the previous 12 years at Motorola. My wife Rose and I have combined my management experience with her 20 year experience as a BSN-RN. To now provide in home care for the elderly, sick, disabled and new moms. I share the enthusiasm of the BID in anticipation and participation that the Washington community of interests will grow and flourish.

Gregory Fliegauf has been with Fliegauf Jewelers since 1997, after graduating from Fairleigh Dickinson with a degree in accounting.  He bought the store from his uncle in 2012 and is not the fourth generation to own the store.  Fliegauf Jewelers has been in business since 1926 and has been a large supporter of the community over the years.  Greg and his wife Denise are building a house in Washington to make this their permanent residence.  Greg was on the Washington BID board of trustees for 13 years before leaving for family matters in 2018.

Jeffrey M. Smith of The Smith Motor Co. (Ford): Mr. Smith is a lifetime Warren County resident, loving husband and father of 3 children. Jeff is a Warren Hills Regional HS graduate and he attended the Churchman’s Business School in Easton, PA. He manages a successful 3rd generation family run automobile dealership and has been on the Washington Borough BID Board for 6 years, serving on the Executive Committee as Secretary for 3 years and as Vice President for 2 years and in the dual role of Vice President/Treasurer for the past year. 

Michael Yates formed MICHAEL F. YATES & COMPANY, INC., a Human Resource and Actuarial consulting firm, in 1997. Mike has consulted in these and related fields for over 35 years providing professional services to large and small corporations, partnerships, non-profits and public entities. He also assists large and small clients with the structural and HR issues associated with mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures. Mike is a member of several professional organizations, has testified before governmental committees, is a County Committeeman, served on and chaired Township Boards, served as Vice-President of the Hunterdon Polytech Board, is a special event organizer and fund raiser for the VFW, is the sponsor of scholastic awards for math and science, raises funds for the Hunterdon Medical Center, is also a commercial pilot and is active in his church. Mr. Yates has served as WBID Board Director for the past three years and as the Board Secretary and member of the Executive Committee
