Washington Quick Chek Marks 35 Years Serving Cunstomers, Supporting Community

WASHINGTON (July 28, 2010) - Quick Chek, a premier chain of more than 120 fresh food store locations throughout New Jersey and Southern New York, recently announced that its Washington Borough store, one of its busiest, celebrated its 35th anniversary serving customers in Washington and in the surrounding communities.

As part of the celebration, the Washington Business Improvement District presented the store, located at 30 Belvidere Ave. with a certificate of recognition.

Kids cookie contest, new vendors highlight WBID's July 23 Farmers Market

WASHINGTON, N.J. (July 16, 2010) - Is your child looking for something fun to do and enjoys making cookies?

Then he or she might want to just enter those cookies in the Washington Business Improvement District's "Farmers Market Kids Cookie Contest", which takes place Friday July 23 as part of the organization's regular Farmers Market. Every kid who enters will be recognized and the one who is deemed the Best Cookie Maker will get a trophy!

In addition to the Cookie Contest, visitors can welcome the two newest vendors to the weekly market, L&L Orchards (locally grown fresh fruits, including out of this world plums) of Glen Gardner, and Around the World in 80 Cakes from Washington. Around the World features scrumptious cakes, caramel popcorn, chocolate truffles, cookies, and brownies.

Antiques, antique tractors, 'green living' highlight July 10 event in Washington

In a tribute not only to the region's agricultural history, and history in general, as well as a tribute to healthy living, the Washington Business Improvement District his hosting the Washington Antiques, Antique Tractors, Holistic Health, and Go Green Show on Saturday July 10.

Tractors of all sizes and shapes, antiques, holistic products and services, and go green vendors will be the center of attention from 9-3 p.m. in Downtown Washington.

 To add to the festivities, DJ Doc South will be spinning tunes throughout the day while Eternal Circle provides live music from 11-2 p.m. by Quality Furniture of North Carolina by the Broad Street/E. Washington Avenue corner.

The tractor show will showcase an array of antique and newer model tractors. Crooked Mile Antiques and Main Street Antiques will anchor antique activities.

Washington will be ‘Cruisin’ to the Blues’ at WBID’s July 2nd ‘Cruise Night’

Folks will be “cruisin’ to the blues” when Washington Borough’s Cruise Nights kicks into a higher gear on Friday, July 2nd as  Eight Days of Blues, a six-piece band, is the featured musical act at the First Friday Cruise Nights hosted by the Washington Business Improvement District and sponsored by Rossi Chevrolet Buick Pontiac GMC.

Eight Days of Blues specializes in its own original blends of Chicago and Texas-style blues infused with elements of Latin, jazz, rock, and traditional R&B.
